Carpinteria chocolate shop expanding to Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara chocolate lovers will soon have a new place to get their fix as the proprietors of Chocolats du Calibressan have leased an 830 sf storefront downtown. The space, in La Arcada Courtyard at 1114 State Street, will be their second location. Kristopher Roth of Hayes Commercial Group represented Chocolats du Calibressan in the transaction.

Chocolats du Calibressan is the creation of husband-wife team Jean-Michel and Jill-Marie Carré. The Carpinteria shop they opened in 2007 has been very successful, serving local walk-in clientele as well as wholesale customers throughout the South Coast. They recently received an award from the Pacific Coast Business Times as the best Small Family-Owned Business in Santa Barbara County. Jill-Marie runs the business and Jean-Michel makes the confections.

“Chocolats du Calibressan is a unique and fun store that will be a great addition to the cozy and cultured shopping atmosphere of La Arcada,” said Kristopher Roth. “I think both parties will benefit from the relationship.”

With this transaction, La Arcada is now fully leased. Kristopher Roth and Michael Martz of Hayes Commercial Group have represented tenants in three leases there in the past six months. “It’s no surprise that La Arcada has filled up in recent months,” Roth said. “La Arcada offers an attractive and vibrant setting for local retailers who want a great downtown location near the arts and entertainment district.
