EXPERIENCE
Michael Martz is one of the founding partners and owners of Hayes Commercial Group. As a regional specialist in the leasing of retail and office properties, Michael has built an impressive track record and closed some of the region’s largest leases with both national and local clients. Michael also handles a significant volume of investment sale transactions and is an expert in assisting clients with complex 1031 tax deferred exchanges. His broad skill set includes strategic planning, site selection, pro forma analysis, and transaction and disposition services for national, regional and local clients throughout the Central Coast.
Michael is one of the only brokers on the Central Coast who holds both an MBA and the distinguished Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation as a recognized expert in the disciplines of commercial and investment real estate. Only 6 percent of the estimated 150,000 commercial real estate practitioners nationwide hold the CCIM designation.
Michael brings strong analytical skills and a solid background in multiple stages of the commercial real estate transaction process. Coupled with his financial aptitude and training, this helps his clients make successful investment decisions whether they are seeking acquisition, development, or leasing. Michael has developed a valuable network of clients and contacts in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, and beyond, gaining experience with many of the area's developers, shopping center owners, retailers, and landlords.

Michael received his M.B.A. in Global Business from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California with studies abroad completed at the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany. He received his B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas.
